Why we LOVE Tug-E-Nuff
Tug-E-Nuff has been one of our favourite brands for a while now at Thaxted Pet Co, so we were SUPER excited when we were gifted some of their latest goodies they have on offer as part of the Kids Around Dogs products scheme.
Tug-E-Nuff has something for every dog: chaser toys, food based toys and ball toys just to name a few! we love that there is such as range to choose from depending on your dog's top motivator. From faux fur to real rabbit skin, their range of materials means you'll always find something to suit your pooch.
We got to try out the Big Twizzler and the Powerball Bungee, which were a massive hit with my crazy Cockapoo. Just 10 minutes of play and she was ready for a snooze! the long handle on the Big Twizzler chaser makes it easy to encourage play, but also stops your fingers from getting caught up in the fun! we particularly love these options for children engaging in play with their own dog's as it keeps their little hands at a safe distance. The Powerball bungee is a smaller option, making it great for taking out and about on walks (they even do a pocket sized option if you need something smaller). The bungee handle makes it a fabulous option for taking the impact out of playing tug.
What makes these toys so special, is that they are designed to play WITH your dog, not just like many toys that are intended for solo play. This means that each time you are using them, you are reinforcing that bond between you and your dog - creating a brilliant foundation for a strong relationship, something which is pivotal in training.
I love incorporating these toys into training and behaviour work. Not all dogs are food driven, but instead they get their thrills from toys. Never understimate the power of play in training! we have seen some brilliant results with the use of Tug-E toys.
